Project Description
The journey of <SWAN SPACE> began with a pilot performance in Korea in 2023 and once again premiered in the US at Chez Bushwick in New York on May 20th, 2024.

We seeks to capture the fleeting, profound moments that punctuate our lives, translating them into a language of movement, sound, and visual wonder.

This project is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with the nuances of our experiences and emotions, offering audiences a rich, immersive journey through the essence of the human spirit.

With support from the Korean government, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, and Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation’s Chez Bushwick, <SWAN SPACE> celebrates the power of art to transcend boundaries and foster a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
Process and Journey
For the visual projection, I aimed to create images that are fluid and organic, yet also distorted. Using real footage of ocean waves and water reflections, I manipulated these elements with digital tools to achieve this effect. I mostly used the tool called TouchDesigner to have an interactive element that works with the audiences in the live performances. The work invites audiences to experience the fluidity and distortion of reality, suggesting themes of change, perception, and the evolving relationship between nature and the digital realm.
Performance in New York
In May 20th, 2024, <SWAN SPACE> was performed in Brooklyn, New York. Using kinetic art as well as projection mapping, the performance engaged audiences to its 40mins of breathtaking show.
