SAI is a nuanced Korean term that describes anything in between, or the word "between" itself. Its meaning spans a spectrum of concepts, including: distance, gap, relationship, void, space, interval, and connection, among others.

SAI embodies the intricate interplay between these contrasting elements, symbolizing not just the bonds that bring people together but also the spaces that keep them apart. It serves as a catalyst, drawing artists from diverse disciplines and facilitating the seamless fusion of art, technology, and dance.

Inspired by the richness of SAI, a team of three artists based in New York sought to explore its essence through their unique perspectives. Their endeavor aimed to harmonize their distinct artistic styles into a unified narrative while honoring their individual characteristics and differences.

Premiered in Brooklyn in August 2021, SAI presented a captivating array of performances, digital art, augmented reality experiences, photography, and sound art.

Working with a multi-disciplinary team, we developed a unified theme that allowed for collaborative expression without suppressing individual styles. As suggested by the exhibition's title, the theme was "Space." We intentionally left its interpretation open, encompassing concepts like outer space, personal space, or voids.

As a visual designer and creative technologist, I created generative art that reacts to sound and movement using TouchDesigner. Additionally, I designed an AR experience called <Space>, featuring a portal with a 3D image of my living room.

I also created a poster for the SAI event and an interactive AR experience that added layers to the exhibition.
